Meet the Team
The Orthodontic Options Team is experienced and well trained. The team consists of warm caring individuals with more than 55 years of combined experience in the specialty of orthodontics, most of that time in the practice now known as Orthodontic Options. The Team will help to understand and navigate through the orthodontic process while making the experience pleasant. Efficient timely treatment is provided using proven technological advances. Although each team member possesses many skills, each has a primary responsibility or position.
Dr. Dopazo
Dr. Dopazo was born in Gainesville, Florida and was raised in Brazil where she earned her dental degree from Universidade Federal do Para, Brazil in 1997. Graduating at the top of her class, she then attended the University of Florida for her orthodontic education where she received her Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics. She operated her own orthodontic practice in Brazil for several years before returning to Florida in 2005.
Dr. Dopazo regularly attends various continuing education courses and seminars hosted by local, state, regional and national professional orthodontic organizations. She believes it is important to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontics so her patients can benefit from the most progressive treatment options available.
She is committed to providing her patients with personalized care with the quality and time they deserve. Besides being committed to her patients, Dr. Dopazo is dedicated to academics. She has served as Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Florida College of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics for over five years, primarily involved in the clinical training of future orthodontists.
Dr. Dopazo has been blessed to be married to Abe since 1995. They have two extraordinary children, Lucca and Enzo. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, cooking and traveling.
Dr. Frank
Dr. Charles A. Frank graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry in 1972. As a general dentist in the Air Force, he applied and was selected for an Air Force sponsored post-graduate training program in the specialty of orthodontics. Upon graduating from Saint Louis University School of Orthodontics in 1979, he practiced orthodontics in the U.S. Air Force until moving to Jacksonville in 1995 and joining the practice of Dr. Robert Uible. The name of the practice, Orthodontic Options, reflects the many different dental challenges that the patients present and the various orthodontic solutions.
Upon completing the rigorous requirements of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Frank received the Board’s certification in 1989. In 2006 Dr. Frank fulfilled the requirements of recertification as a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He has taught since 1982 in several post-graduate dental programs and has authored or coauthored numerous articles published in various professional dental journals. He has given presentations concerning different orthodontic topics to dental organizations in Europe, Asia and the United States. Dr. Frank maintains the highest standards in his knowledge of and clinical skills in orthodontics by attending professional conferences and participating in professional organizations.
Dr. Frank has been blessed in marriage with three lovely daughters. He and his wife are empty nesters. However, even as an empty nester he has little spare time, being a volunteer much of his time for a non-profit organization, BASCA, providing services for the developmentally disabled in northeast Florida.
Dr. Frank has had numerous articles published in several professional journals.
Jane
Jane primarily serves as the financial coordinator for Orthodontic Options. She is responsible for creating individualized financial arrangements that make orthodontic treatment affordable for everyone. Jane provides a wealth of knowledge about the numerous insurance programs available in the Jacksonville area and their unique orthodontic benefits.
Ethel
Ethel is the communication specialist for Orthodontic Options. She edits, tracks, and records all correspondence leaving the office, and screens, records, and files all correspondence coming into the office. Ethel has the challenging task of scheduling patients for routine and immediate appointments in specific time slots that reflect an appropriate amount of time to accomplish the anticipated procedure.
Heather
Heather graduated from Expanded Duties Assistant program and is a certified orthodontic assistant. She works directly or indirectly on the patients: taking records (radiographs, models, and photographs), tying and untying braces, and taking impressions. She is also responsible for sterilizing the instruments used in the mouth, disinfecting the equipment and countertops, and ordering clinical supplies.
